Portland’s Favorite Pumpkin Patches

As the days get shorter, the leaves begin to change color, and the air gets that special crisp scent, it’s clear that fall has arrived. And nothing says fall like a pumpkin patch!

Whether you’re looking to find the perfect gourds for your fall decor, have some weekend fun amidst the back-to-school bustle, or embrace your fall feels with a warm mug of cider, it’s a surefire way to welcome the changing season. But do you know the best pumpkin patches in the area? Read on for a few of our favorites!

1. The Pumpkin Patch

One of Portland’s most popular fall destinations, The Pumpkin Patch is located on Sauvie Island, just a few miles outside the city. In celebration of the season, the patch features a variety of festive activities, from specialty food booths and hayrides to pumpkin picking, a corn maze, and a produce market.

Grab a warm beverage from Pumpkin Perk Coffee, meander around the Pumpkin Cottage gift shop, get lost in The Maize, pick up some seasonal veggies, say hi to the animals in the Animal Bar, or just relax and take in the fresh air. Open weekdays and weekends throughout the month of October, it’s perfect for visitors of all ages who are ready to get their fall on.

2. Lee Farms

With seven generations of family farming rooted deep in Oregon, Lee Farms has a storied history in the area since 1869. Located in Tualatin, the farm boasts numerous yearly events and festivals—but perhaps most popular is the Fall Harvest Festival, taking place from September 23 to October 29.

Venture out on a hayride, grab something to eat at the snack bar, scour the fields for the pumpkin of your dreams, and take a turn in the hay maze. Or check out the bakery, filled with delicious treats. (We’re partial to their legendary pumpkin donuts, which pair perfectly with a cup of warm apple cider.) Want to hold onto the spirit of fall a little longer? Gather pumpkins, cornstalks, or hay bales to bring the cozy season right into your home

3. Plumper Pumpkin Patch

A family-run pumpkin patch located on NW Old Cornelius Pass Road, Plumper Pumpkin Patch offers 25 types of pumpkins as well as gourds, squashes, and other fall produce—perfect for all your fall-themed recipes. Or, if you’re looking for a little extra decor inspiration, stop by the farm store and discover tons of fall-themed trinkets to spruce up your space.

The farm is open daily, with numerous activities that are available every afternoon during the week and all day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Take a wagon ride and enjoy the amazing Tualatin Valley views, let the kids loose in the play area and hobbit house, or watch produce soar with the pumpkin and apple cannons. It’s a true fall adventure!

4. Hoffman Farms

What began as a humble potato farm is now a bustling estate run by three generations and a great spot to start a new fall tradition. Located in Beaverton on Scholls Ferry Road, Hoffman Farms is open Wednesday through Sunday. Whether you’re looking to spend some quality time with family and friends, cozy up with your partner, or simply get out of the house, there are plenty of ways to have some fun.

Navigate the u-pick pumpkin patch and choose from over 50 varieties of pumpkins, explore the fabulous 10-acre corn maze, or take a scenic ride on the Scholls Valley Railroad. Enjoy a smorgasbord of scrumptious treats, from seasonal pies and warm apple cider donuts to pumpkin pie milkshakes. Or, get ready to decorate for the holidays with the “Front Porch Bundle,” which includes a mini hay bale and cornstalks so you can transform your home into an autumnal wonderland.
