Meet the Ambassadors, Part 2

What better way to learn about a new neighborhood than by talking to the people who live there? If you’re looking for a new home in Portland, relocating to Oregon, or hoping to live near jobs in the Silicon Forest, you’ve come to the right place. Thanks to our Resident Ambassadors, you can chat with real people in the community and get all your questions answered—from their initial builder experience to what daily life is like.

From families to singles, whether you’re a first-time homebuyer or a seasoned pro, we’ll pair you with the best Ambassador for your needs. Each of them recently bought a new home here in South Hillsboro, and have now volunteered to help others through the process. Chat with your ambassador by text, email, phone, or in person—whatever works for you.

In part one of this series, we introduced the first three ambassadors. Now, let’s meet the rest!

Headshot of Reed’s Crossing Ambassador Janki.

Janki – The Busy Bee

Loves: Hiking, Being Outdoors

“You can change everything inside and outside your home, but the one thing you cannot change is the location. When we found Reed’s Crossing, I fell in love with how green, beautiful, and outdoorsy it is. Every time we go for a walk, we see something new. I work from home, and to be able to just take a break—to go for a walk or to a park, and disconnect from all the blue-screen energy—makes a huge difference. Being able to easily connect with nature does wonders for your mental health.”

Headshot of Reed’s Crossing Ambassador Brian.

Brian – The Family Guy

Loves: Gyros, Meeting New People

“This is the most diverse neighborhood I've ever been in; I’ve met more people from different communities than I have in any other place that I've lived—and I grew up in the military, so that's saying something. The advice I'd give to any first-time homebuyer is to really think about where you see yourself years from now. When my wife and I were talking about it, we decided we really wanted to get our kids through high school. If you're not thinking about those things as a new homebuyer, if you’re just looking for four walls and a roof, I think you're going to be a homebuyer again in short order.”

Headshot of Reed’s Crossing Ambassador Eleanor.

Eleanor – The Bookworm

Loves: Reading, Cats, Singing

“When my husband and I started looking for a home, we had no idea where we wanted to be. We happened across Reeds Crossing in early 2020, and liked the idea of moving into a new neighborhood where everyone was new, and we could meet people and form friendships. Between all of the walking paths and the wellness center, we are able to find many ways to keep active without having to get into the car and drive. We also love that we can go on a walk around the neighborhood in the evening and see our friends out walking, too!”
